Description: We often assume that, if we are doing a good job, someone will notice, promote us, and help advance our career. This is called Tiara Syndrome. Hope is not a strategy. You need to be the CEO of your professional life and strategically make decisions instead of being at the mercy of factors beyond your control. While it is possible someone will give you a metaphorical tiara, it is more likely that you will need to self-advocate to succeed. This session will explore how to create and implement a career plan, speak about your accomplishments authentically, and deal with inevitable setbacks.
